Welcome to Peter Richardson’s studio, the Big Red Barn in Lake Montezuma, Arizona.

Inspired by the workspaces of the classic Soho lofts during his internship as an artist’s assistant in New York, Richardson designed and built his dream studio/living space, styled as a New York loft on the inside and a great American barn on the outside.

Finding the right spot to build his home was by calculated luck. Visiting family and friends, Richardson found unblockable views of mountains, high desert forest and plenty of sky. He found these and more in Lake Montezuma, a wonderful rural community, an old Hollywood vacation spot on the edge of Forest Service land near the red rocks of Sedona, gateway to the Grand Canyon and famous for her red rock vistas. All inspiring for a landscape artist.
